Finally… A Home Tour

Well, it has been a really long time since I have had a minute to sit down and blog. While I am incredibly grateful to have a job that I am so passionate about, running a design business and keeping up an 18 month old is quite exhasuting.

We have been in our home for almost a year now, and I think I am finally ready to give a tour of what Jeff and I have done in the home. Our bathroom is not quite finished, and I plan to do something unique with the fireplace to add some height to the large expanse of wall in the family room, but other than that…we have come a loooong way!

I love our neighborhood, but there are several homes in it with the same floor plan as ours. I wanted to find ways to make my home unique and to reflect OUR style. I asked Sharp not to do any lighting, no bathroom mirrors that look like giant slabs of glass please, and the built ins would be done after we moved in. My hand husband installed all cabinet hardware after we moved in, and I painted all of the bathroom vanities to get rid of the builder grade oak. We changed bathroom fixtures as well. I tried to do a unique paint scheme…white or oyster bar walls with gray trim. Some stripes here and there, and a couple of spots for some European wallpaper that I had ben eyeing for a year! Custom curtains and pillows helped too. We used all we could from our old home, and added some new pieces as well. I desperately tried to find a good deal on fabrics and accessories for the home. I shopped antique stores for art, lighting, and architectural elements. Homegoods has been my second home. I am excited to share our labor of love, and I hope you enjoy it. As always, thank you for reading!:)

Here are some photos of the home just after closed…
